Catch you at the next one. Funnily enough, right after running into you I went and had coffee with Bernie! Small world.
Hi Chris — just wanted to say thanks for posting those pics of my old friend Dave Byers. I was a DC guitar player c.1980-83, and we used to play together every chance we got. Dave called me Doc Chops cuz I could play fast and knew all that jazz shit. Fact is I was trying to play like him. John Gibson was usually on bass (we had a band called the Pretensh-tones for a while). I lost touch with Dave when I moved to NYC in 1983 and just recently got to wondering about him, only to find on the internet that he had recently died. Brought me to tears. He was a great guy and a great guitar player. So thanks for giving me some pics to remember him by. Best of luck — Michael
Hey Chris,
I went to NAMM again this year (2011) and went by the Shure booth to see my many friends there (also it is always right next to the Steinberg booth & I was hoping to see Rodney O. there, but he was not there) and I noticed Henry R. was doing a thing at the Shure booth… and I remembered giving you an introduction to WeiQi (aka Go & Baduk) at NAMM many years ago… have you played any games of Go lately? Did you go to NAMM this year? Any plans for touring other than Australia?
